Pendelee
The Beginning
Bartons Building were commissioned for the complete design and complete restoration of Pendelee, formerly known as Warrawee - a grade 2 listed listed house in the beautiful village of Cawsand that was built in the late 1800's. As a listed building sited within a conservation area care had to be taken to preserve the period features and to this end extensive consultations (including site visits) were undertaken with the local Parish Council, the Conservation Officer and the local Planning Authority. Once the necessary approvals were in place work commenced in the spring of 2014.
Getting There!
The roof was repaired and tne interior walls were stripped! Care was taken to photograph and either safely remove or protect the property's period features. Due to the age of the property the party wall required significant rebuilding and strengthening and was refinished with specialist lime plaster works. A new electric combi boiler heating system was provided and of course the house was completely re-wired. Quality kitchens and bathrooms were installed. An courtyard was required to provide a ground floor wet room and utility inclusive of roof terrace providing access to the garden at first floor level.
The Completed Project
The work was completed to programme and within the agreed budget. As can be seen from the photographs the results speak for themselves.
